Nagpur News : A 27-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide after accusing a man of establishing a physical relationship with her on the promise of marriage and later refusing to marry her. The incident took place on Monday in the Wadi police station area of Nagpur.

According to police, the woman had met Prajwal Ramkumar Mate (26), a resident of Khapa in Tumsar taluka of Bhandara district, through Instagram. Their online acquaintance reportedly developed into a relationship.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that Mate had assured her that he would marry her. She claimed that after making the promise, he established a physical relationship with her. The complaint states that the two were in a relationship between September 2025 and August 2026 and that Mate allegedly took her to a hotel in the Ramdaspeth area, where the relationship continued.

Police said the woman consumed a poisonous substance on Monday. Her family members noticed her condition and immediately took her to a private hospital in the Wadi area, where she is currently receiving treatment.
