Maharashtra New IPS Officers: Maharashtra is set to get 12 new Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, who will join the state cadre from August 31, 2026. The Home Department has issued orders regarding their postings after the probationary officers completed their institutional training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA), Hyderabad.

The newly appointed officers will serve as Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) in different parts of Maharashtra. The appointments cover several districts, including Ratnagiri, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Latur, Parbhani, Wardha, Gadchiroli, Amravati, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Bhandara and Nagpur Rural.

Five Women Officers Among 12 New IPS Officers

Of the 12 probationary IPS officers receiving field postings, five are women officers. Their appointments are part of the state's latest effort to strengthen police administration and leadership at the sub-divisional level.

The officers belong to the 2023 and 2024 IPS batches, with six officers from each batch. Following the completion of their institutional training, they will now begin their field assignments in Maharashtra.

Sarda Tejas Sudip Posted in Bhandara

One of the key appointments for Vidarbha is Sarda Tejas Sudip, who has been posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer in Bhandara.

The appointment means Bhandara will have a new IPS officer taking charge at the sub-divisional level from August 31. The officer's field posting will involve responsibilities related to policing, law and order and coordination with the local police administration.

Important Responsibility for Vidarbha's Police Administration

Several of the new officers have been posted in Vidarbha, including Bhandara, Wardha, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Amravati and Nagpur Rural.

Their postings are particularly significant because these regions include urban areas as well as rural, tribal and sensitive police jurisdictions. The new SDPOs will be responsible for supervising policing operations and coordinating with police stations and senior officers within their respective subdivisions.
