**New Delhi:** A protest has reportedly begun outside Delhi’s Parliament Street Police Station demanding the arrest of **Independent Bhardwaj**, whose remarks in a viral video have triggered controversy on social media.

The video, which surfaced two days ago, allegedly shows Bhardwaj speaking about an assault on the father of a young woman. In the clip, he is purportedly heard claiming that the man was beaten so severely that he required dozens of stitches on his head. He also allegedly described the incident as a “half murder” while making references to prominent political and public figures.

The remarks have since sparked widespread criticism, with protesters demanding that the police take action against him.

## ‘Independent Bhardwaj Is on the Run,’ Claim Protesters

According to claims circulating on social media, Bhardwaj left Delhi and reached **Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh**, where he allegedly stayed overnight in the Nathla village area.

Media personnel reportedly reached the location after learning about his presence. According to the claims, Bhardwaj subsequently left the area to avoid the media.

A video from Bulandshahr has also circulated online in which Bhardwaj is seen making statements about the police and attempting to project himself as someone who could evade law-enforcement authorities.

The exact location of Bhardwaj at present has not been independently confirmed.

## Controversy Over Television Appearances

The controversy has also expanded to television news channels and anchors following allegations that Bhardwaj has appeared on news programmes on multiple occasions.

Critics have accused certain television channels and anchors of repeatedly providing him a platform despite his controversial statements. They argue that editorial teams are generally aware of the guests appearing on programmes and decide who receives an opportunity to speak.

Some social media users have gone further, alleging that such platforms contribute to the amplification of extremist rhetoric. These allegations, however, remain claims made by critics and should not be treated as established facts without independent verification.

## Police Action Awaited

The demand for Bhardwaj's arrest has intensified following the circulation of the video, with protesters calling for a police investigation into the alleged assault and his statements.

Authorities have yet to publicly clarify the latest status of the case, including whether an FIR has been registered against Bhardwaj or whether he has been formally detained.

Further details are awaited from the Delhi Police and other concerned authorities.
