Bhandara: Students of the Zilla Parishad school in Sanggadi, Sakoli taluka, approached the Bhandara Zilla Parishad office to draw the administration’s attention to the shortage of subject teachers at their school. Around 50 to 60 students travelled by ST bus to the district headquarters and demanded the immediate appointment of the required subject teachers.

The students met officials in the chambers of the Zilla Parishad President and Education Committee Chairman and explained the difficulties they are facing. They said the shortage of subject teachers is affecting their studies and academic preparation.

Following the students’ demand, the Education Committee Chairman, Education Officer and other Zilla Parishad officials discussed the issue with the Chief Executive Officer. However, as no immediate decision was announced initially, the students became upset and raised slogans demanding teachers for their school.

The students and parents also warned that if the required teachers are not provided, they may jointly lock the school in protest. Amid the growing tension, the Chief Executive Officer reportedly gave a verbal assurance that subject teachers would be made available on Monday.

However, the students refused to rely solely on a verbal assurance and demanded a written commitment from the administration. Since they did not receive a clear written assurance, the students expressed their disappointment.

All eyes are now on Monday to see whether subject teachers are actually appointed at the Sanggadi school. If the issue remains unresolved, students and parents may consider intensifying their protest.

Shortage of Teachers Raises Concern for 1,127 Students

Around 1,127 students from Classes 5 to 12 are studying at the Zilla Parishad school and junior college in Sanggadi. Students from nearly 15 villages in the surrounding area depend on this institution for their education.

The institution is regarded as an important educational centre in the area. However, the shortage of teachers has reportedly affected the teaching process, causing concern among parents.

The issue is particularly important for Class 12 students, whose academic year is crucial for their further education and career plans. Parents and students are therefore demanding that the shortage of subject teachers be addressed without further delay.

Students and parents are now waiting to see whether the administration fulfils its assurance and ensures that the required teachers are available at the school.
