Bhandara, Maharashtra: A serious murder incident has raised fresh concerns over law and order in Bhandara city after a 15-year-old schoolboy was allegedly killed with a sharp weapon near Nehru Garden in the Mendha area on Tuesday evening, August 18.
The deceased has been identified as Anshu Gajanan Yerkade, a Class 9 student of Bhagirath Bhaskar School. According to preliminary information, the incident took place at around 5:30 pm, when Anshu was returning home after school.
His schoolbag was reportedly found at the scene, leaving residents shocked and prompting a quick police response. The incident also triggered tension in the area.
Dispute Between Two Minors
Preliminary information suggests that Anshu and the suspected attacker were known to each other and were reportedly friends. The two had allegedly been involved in an argument a few days earlier.
On Tuesday, the two reportedly met and began discussing the earlier dispute. The situation allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation over a sharp weapon. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the weapon and the attack.
